Procrastination Flowchart

Everybody struggles with procrastination! The word is from the Latin cras, which means "tomorrow" - and of course tomorrow never comes. It is always today already, and there is always . . . tomorrow. I'm not sure I really have any good advice for coping with procrastination, but I figure humor is always a good way to get started.

Make your weird light shine bright

A friend of mine shared this graphic at Google+, and I thought it was a fantastic message. This is what the Internet is for, right? Right!

Make your weird light shine bright
so the other weirdos know where to find you.

Whatever... I'm late anyway.

What a great clock!

A book is a dream
that you hold in your hands.

When people stop reading

For the reading files:

The problem in our country isn't with books being banned, but with people no longer reading. You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them. Ray Bradbury.

Resource: Role-Playing

As you may have guessed from the emphasis on creative writing in these classes, I am a fan of role-playing. After all, in a story you can be anyone... or anything. This cartoon shows why this is a very valuable life skill to master! The cartoon is about playing Dungeons and Dragons, but I think it works just as well if you read about dragons too!

Empathy: The Human Connection

I thought this was a wonderful video! Find out more about the video here: An Empathy Video That Asks You To Stand in Someone Else's Shoes.

"Patient care is more than just healing -- it's building a connection that encompasses mind, body and soul. If you could stand in someone else's shoes . . . hear what they hear. See what they see. Feel what they feel. Would you treat them differently?"
